EKU “JV” Mock Trial Team Fifth in 18-Team Event
Eastern Kentucky University’s “JV” mock trial team placed fifth in an 18-team tournament at the University of Cincinnati Nov. 10-11.
The young squad finished ahead of teams from the University of Kentucky, Northern Kentucky University, the University of Dayton, Xavier University, University of Cincinnati, and Case Western Reserve University, among others.
Cynthia Chang, biology major and Honors Program student from Richmond, and Barbara McDermott, political science major from Richmond, were recognized as Outstanding Witnesses. Marcus Segura, political science and deaf studies major from Fort Thomas, was honored as an Outstanding Attorney.
Other members of the team include Chloe Richardson, globalization major from Orient, Ohio; Bennett Parker, political science major and Honors Program member from Fort Thomas; Ashley Mundfrom, statistics major and Honors Program member from Richmond; Mary Wagner, pre-occupational science major and Honors Program member from Louisville; and Kathryn Hieneman, English education major and Honors Program member from Campbellsville.
Coaches are Joshua Leckrone, Lynnette Noblitt, Tom Parker and Sara Zeigler. Support for the program is provided by University Programs, the Department of Government, the College of Justice & Safety, the College of Arts & Sciences, and Distinguished Alumnus Robert E. Sanders.
