EKU Piano Student from Brazil Wins Statewide Competition

Another Eastern Kentucky University student from Brazil has earned first place in a statewide piano competition.

Gabriela Anibali, a student of Bernardo Scarambone, won the overall first prize in the Memorial Piano Competition held Nov. 16 at Kentucky Christian University and sponsored by the Ashland Area Music Teachers Association. Anibali just began her master’s program in piano performance.

Recently, Gabriel Fernandes, also of Brazil and a student of Scarambone, took first prize at the MTNA Blue Grass competition. He and Yuhan Lu also competed at KCU Nov. 16.
