EKU Senior Wins Top Undergraduate Student Paper Award from Kentucky Communication Association
Nick Wade, a senior public relations major and Honors Program member at Eastern Kentucky University, has received the Top Undergraduate Student Paper Award from the Kentucky Communication Association.
Wade, from Danville, earned the top honor for his senior Honors thesis, “Lady Gaga: Born This Way but Not Cared for This Way.” The paper, he explained, makes the point that the popular entertainer is “creating the next generation of social activists by using the feminist theory of ethics of care and the leadership theory of transformational leadership.” His faculty adviser for the paper was Dr. Ginny Whitehouse.
“I had an absolute blast working on this project,” he said.
The 2008 graduate of Boyle County High School will graduate in December with a bachelor’s degree.
